Our Story
What began as a fresh addition to City Island has grown into a community mainstay. Created by Rene Matos — whose career spans more than two decades across Marriott and the world of wine and spirits — this restaurant is the sum of every experience, relationship, and standard he carried along the way.
That philosophy shows in the kitchen. We cook the way we eat: with quality ingredients sourced as close to home as possible, respect for Italian tradition, and an eye toward what’s in season. From our fresh clam pie — a nod to the island’s seafaring roots — to the Sunday-supper pappardelle bolognese, every dish here has a point of view. This is coastal Italian through a Bronx lens.
